Roles Of A Father
A father's role is very important to a child's life because a he is someone that a son looks up to all his life. A father and son are supposed to be doing 'manly' things together like fixing the car in the garage. They can do their hobbies together, whether it's related to underwater welding or golf. A father is supposed to be a family's protector. This is not only in terms of physical protection from harm but also mental, emotional and spiritual protection. Children need their values to be protected until they become adults. He also protects their minds and hearts. A father is also a provider and this is something that is part of a father's instinct. He provides the basic needs for the family like shelter, food and clothing. He also ensures that the home is a place where the children can grow with love and constant encouragement.
A father teaches his children to be independent. He prepares them to be ready with the 'real world' that might cause them harm or pain. A father is also considered a counsellor or a guide. He leads his children to the right path that will give them the best kind of life. A father is always concerned about his child's interest even if his sons want to study in underwater welding schools, the father should support them all the way. A father must gain the trust of his children so they will be open to tell him about their personal concerns. Sometimes, fathers tend to try to appear strong for their children. The negative impact of this is that children might become afraid of their fathers. There are many children who do not feel that they can open up to their father because they fear that their father will get mad at them.
